Welcome! Voices In Praise exists for the glory of God and in service to others. As the youth choir of Friendship United Methodist Church, the group is open to all youth in grades 6 -12 who have a desire to sing and a willingness to make the commitment to the group. Singers are not required to be a member of the church or to have any background in singing. Our doors are open to everyone!

The choir rehearses on Mondays. Girls rehearse from 6:30pm – 8pm; Guys rehearse from 7pm – 8:30pm.

New singers are welcome any time. Feel free to contact Director Holly Reynolds Lee at 301-728-1748 with questions!

Day 7 - Hello Seattle!

Our first full day in Seattle! VIP started the morning at the Experience Music Project Museum -- the perfect museum for music-minded teenagers. The kids enjoyed the Guitar Gallery and exhibits on all sorts of things related to music and the movies. They REALLY loved the 3rd floor which had jam rooms and all sorts of interactive instruments. They also had a place where you could record a music video -- and of course, the kids did that.

We had a quick lunch (Chinese food - yum!) and headed off to our first concert of the day at a nursing home called Seattle Keiro. It is geared toward Asian Americans, some of whom speak little or no English. They seemed to enjoy our music and it was a great turnout. Justin is the only VIP who knows Korean and was a real hit as he chatted with members of the audience. They were surprised and glad to have a chat in their native languages. As we left, Justin commented, "I just want to stay and talk with everyone." It was awesome!

We made a quick visit to the Original Starbucks which was hot and crowded, and not nearly as lovely as one might hope. Then, it was time for dinner -- Mexican this time. (Can you tell that VIP ate well on this trip?)

With stomachs full of quesadillas and taquitos, we headed off to our final formal concert of this Tour. It was held at a church where Maddie Buckley's Aunt, Lisa Murray, is a member. VIP did a fantastic job and everyone who attended raved about the kids. One 98-year-old gentleman told several VIPs that he had been a member of that church his whole life and had seen many choirs -- but none better than VIP. High praise indeed.
