As the youth choir of Friendship United Methodist Church, the group is open to all youth in grades 6 -12 who have a desire to sing and a willingness to make the commitment to the group. Singers are not required to be a member of the church or to have any background in singing. Our doors are open to everyone!

The choir rehearses on Mondays. Girls rehearse from 6:30pm – 8pm; Guys rehearse from 7pm – 8:30pm.

Day 5 - West Point Gray United & Sunday Funday

Day 5 of our Tour found us singing in worship at West Point Gray United Church - a small congregation with a warm, welcoming spirit. The church was saying goodbye to their ministry intern, Laurel, who preached a wonderful message about endings, beginnings, and all of the "stuff" involved with transitioning from one chapter to another. It was a great message, and especially relevant to our graduating seniors and members of the VIP group who are preparing for big changes in the months ahead. The closing hymn was "Here I Am, Lord" -- a powerful piece and one that is much loved by VIP. It was powerful to stand with the choir and sing:

Here I am, Lord. Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.

I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

After worship, VIPs broke off into small groups for Sunday Funday -- different activities throughout the city. VIPs watched Wicked and Cirque du Soleil, played paintball, went kayaking, visited Klahowya Village in Stanley Park, explored a flea market and more.

We met up at the hotel for dinner at the Tomahawk Restaurant, featured on the Food Network TV series Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and You Gotta Eat Here!

We returned to the hotel in time for a quick swim and a jam session with Jason on guitar.

I'm sorry we don't have more pictures to share with you today. The images are on different cameras and phones, and we just haven't brought them all together.

Onward!
