Welcome! Voices In Praise exists for the glory of God and in service to others. As the youth choir of Friendship United Methodist Church, the group is open to all youth in grades 6 -12 who have a desire to sing and a willingness to make the commitment to the group. Singers are not required to be a member of the church or to have any background in singing. Our doors are open to everyone!

The choir rehearses on Mondays. Girls rehearse from 6:30pm – 8pm; Guys rehearse from 7pm – 8:30pm.

New singers are welcome any time. Feel free to contact Director Holly Reynolds Lee at 301-728-1748 with questions!

BIG News - Matching Gift Challenge!

Voices In Praise is thrilled to announce that from now through June 30, 2011, we have a Matching Gift Challenge. An anonymous donor has graciously agreed to match donations to Voices In Praise, up to $5,000!

Funds donated under this challenge will go towards the choir's general fund. (They cannot be donated towards a specific singer.) Under this offer, your donation of $10, $20, or $50 becomes $20, $40, or $100! All gifts, no matter how big or small, will be matched until we hit the $5,0000 mark.

What does the general fund do?
  1. Helps to offset costs for the whole group. We try to use the general fund to cover motorcoach costs when the group needs to hit the road for a performance.
  2. Makes scholarships available to singers who need them. VIP has a policy that no singer will EVER miss a mission opportunity because of financial reasons. A robust general fund helps us to ensure that we're always able to fulfill this policy.
  3. Allows VIP to take on projects that are not covered by our standard church budget. Using our general fund, we're able to hire busses when we need them, bring in special musicians and clinicians, and even pay equipment and rental fees when we need to buy something for our ministry.
Would you please consider making a donation under this challenge? No amount is too small and all donors will be recognized on this Website and in VIP programs at upcoming concerts. What better way to show your support for the youth choir that supports so many people in so many ways?

To make a gift, all you need to do is write a check payable to "FUMC" with "VIP" on the memo line. You can drop it in the offering plate at Friendship UMC or mail it to:

Thanks in advance for being part of this challenge!
