There are not enough adjectives in the world to describe the awesomeness that was the VIP Rally, so instead I'm going to make a list of the Top 10 things that thrilled me about tonight:
10.) We welcomed a fantastic group of rookies: Michael, Ashley, Jamie, Mackenzie, Dacey, Chad, Tony, and Joe. (I pray I didn't forget anyone!)
9.) Mary Brooke had a connector just when we needed it.
8.) Brie is a walking treasure trove of bizarre music trivia knowledge.
7.) The basses are (seriously) a wall of macho man sound with the personalities to match.
6.) Jimbo reads the tenor line and makes it gorgeous. And Robbie F. really will sing the high C, even though he wants to (and can) sing the low one.
5.) Devotional - especially from Adam and several others.
4.) There's no freaking out when I announce that we have a performance on Saturday.
3.) We have high school altos! And they're LOVELY. (We could still use a few more!) And the front-row altos, Brenna, Ellie, and Lauren, were right-on, super-strong stunning.
2.) Not a single solitary person expressed disappointment at the Choir Tour choice, even my Puerto Rican rooting girls.
1.) My friend Jeff is back.
Life doesn't get any better than this! Thanks, VIP! It's going to be a great year.
Welcome! Voices In Praise exists for the glory of God and in service to others. As the youth choir of Friendship United Methodist Church, the group is open to all youth in grades 6 -12 who have a desire to sing and a willingness to make the commitment to the group. Singers are not required to be a member of the church or to have any background in singing. Our doors are open to everyone!
